Test the Team is fun for all the family

Hello Sunshine Supporters,

We can't quite believe it is August already, and although these past few months have been challenging for all of us, we want to say a BIG thank you for all of your continued support and kindness. We really couldn't continue to support children living with disabilities, right here in our region, if it wasn't for people like you. You truly are incredible.

Whilst we may not have been able to continue with our usual events and community fundraising initiatives, we have been changing the way we work behind the scenes, to make sure we are still helping those children that so desperately need us. Although we may not be in the office, we are still working hard to bring you fun events, family news and challenges to get involved in.

Why not support us by becoming a virtual fundraising superhero?! We have put together a virtual fundraising guide to kick start your fundraising campaign and we hope you are as excited as we are to get started. Our handy guide is made specifically with you and your fundraising goals in mind. You can download your exclusive and brand-new fundraising guide on our website, in which we talk you through everything from fundraising platforms, fun event ideas for friends and family as well as some super handy hints and tips to turn you into a fundraising superstar.

We have also partnered with Barclays, to become the beneficiaries of their exciting virtual ’Test the Team Quiz'. The event, to be held on Wednesday 16th September, from the comfort of your own home, is going to be full of challenges, laughs and lots of fun for all of the family. Barclays have agreed to support us by matching pound for pound the money raised. When you register your details, you may even receive a telephone call during the quiz to tell you, YOU’VE WON A PRIZE”. In true radio style, pay attention, you may need, a phrase that pays. Tickets will be sold for £10 per household, and we advise you to register quickly as it's sure to be a sell-out. Join us for an evening to remember by signing up. You can find the link on our social media pages or get in touch with us and we’ll happily point you in the right direction.

We’re also thrilled to announce our latest support from none other than National Lottery Community Fund. Thanks to the lottery and the government, they have agreed to help children right here in the North-east through the Coronavirus Community Support Fund. This will go a huge way in helping us to make sure we’re reaching those children living with disabilities in our region that so desperately need our help right now. Thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund and the government for your support during these difficult times.

It means the world to us that we have such incredible supporters. We know that times are hard, but now more than ever we need your help. These are extremely difficult and uncertain times and our families face more hardship than ever before. Our children can be immunosuppressed meaning they don’t have the ability to fight infection effectively. Our children can have severe respiratory conditions and breathing difficulties, many with tracheostomies that are at a high risk of infection. Our children may have neuro conditions which leaves them susceptible to further illness and Covid-19 poses an even greater risk.

If you can, please do support us by donating, fundraising for us or even taking part in some of the exciting quizzes and events we have planned. We really couldn’t continue to do this work without you.
