As we enter our 23rd year of The Sunshine Run 5K, we wanted to make the day a little different, and give schools an opportunity to get involved and support local children living with disabilities.

We are inviting schools and/or groups to walk an interactive, educational and fun-filled 1-mile circular route along Newcastle's iconic Quayside, over the Swing Bridge, along the Gateshead side and back over the Millennium Bridge.

The route will be self-guided with volunteers along the way, and we will provide a map and worksheets for your young learners to complete. All participants will receive a certificate and goodie bag upon completion of The Sunshine Mile.

Entry is free, however we encourage each child to raise at least £5, which will help us create brighter futures for babies, children and young people living with complex needs here in the North East. ​
