Our annual trek returns for 2023!

Challenge yourself in 2023 and join us as we take on The Lakes 3000 Challenge...

Whether you're a hiking pro or looking to challenge yourself, we'd love for you to join Team Sunshine on Friday 12th May as we head to the Lake District to take on some of the highest mountains the area has to offer. Within 12 hours, we'll summit Scafell Pike (3210ft), Scafell (3209ft), Helvellyn (3120ft) and Skiddaw (3050ft) to conquer The Lakes 3000 Challenge.

The challenge will be led by our trusted trek providers, Adventure Northumberland, and their experienced mountain guides, as well as our very own 'Bear Frills', Erin. Erin will guide trekkers through their fundraising and training journey and offer personal, one-to-one support and tips until the big day.

TRAINING

This is a challenging trek and so participants must have a good level of fitness and be able to train ahead of the trek.

Upon registering, all participants will receive a free The Gym Group membership with their local, North East site, and will have access to weekly training sessions up until the challenge date.

Tom took part in our 2019 National Three Peaks Challenge...

“You wouldn’t think standing in a -20 windchill on Ben Nevis, climbing Scafell Pike in the dark or summitting Snowdon in the drizzle (after about 2 hours sleep in a van) would be enjoyable, but completing the Three Peaks with the Sunshine Fund in 2019 was an amazing experience and an adventure I’ll never forget (for all the right reasons).

Luke, Tom and Robin, Muckle LLP

None of our team had done anything like this before, but the trip was so well planned and the Sunshine Fund gave lots of great advice and support which made our fundraising really easy. It’s testament to the Sunshine Fund that we spent most of the Trek laughing and smiling! The fact that we were raising money for such a great cause made it even better - I couldn’t recommend the experience or the charity enough."
