Need a little persuasion?
Hear what one of last year's Sunshine Zipliners said:

"Think about your fears, what would make you face them? For me it was the chance that by facing them; I could drum up support for an amazing cause, if it's for a good enough cause then you can face anything. For instance, I have a terrifying fear of heights, I struggle with the thought of being high up, but it was exhilarating zip-lining from the Tyne bridge, and knowing that facing that fear raised money for the Sunshine Fund, makes my conquering worth it!"

A Summer of Thrill- Seeking marketing

Going back to where we began...

The Sunshine Fund originated almost 100 years ago following a visit from King George V when he attended the official opening of the Tyne Bridge in October 1928.

He donated £15 to facilitate a visit to the seaside to help disadvantaged children living in the North East.

As our region is still one of the most deprived areas in the UK, we strive to continue our work in supporting local children living with disabilities, additional needs and terminal illness by funding life-changing equipment that is not available through government funding or the NHS.

OUR SUPPORTERS

We are proud to work with so many inspiring organisations and indivduals across the North East who share our passion to enhance the lives of local children with disabilities, here are just a few of them...
