We hope you had an eggcellent bank holiday weekend. Even though it was chilly it was smashing to see the sunshine and I’m sure that made all of the outdoor Easter Egg hunts that little bit more special! We loved seeing photos of our families and our supporters enjoying Easter. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Last week I mentioned we have some (Fire) cracking news to share and Im going to explode if I dont tell you! We are so excited to launch our first event for over a year. Due to the pandemic, we have rescheduled the Noche Del Sol Ball to Friday 5th November, so my fireworks puns might make a little more sense now. This sparkling occasion will be hosted by The Chronicle Sunshine Fund and our wonderful partners St James Square Law Firm. Our headline entertainment for the evening, Local band Los Capitanes, will have us all rock(et)ing and there are plenty of surprises in store for the evening. The event is a cultural celebration of Mexicana and will take place in the luxurious setting of The Grand Hotel, Gosforth, who are looking forward to welcoming guests back while adhering to all appropriate covid safety measures ensuring that our guests safety and comfort is their number one priority.

We are excited to work with St James Square, this is our first event together although we have been lucky enough to be charity partners since 2020. The pandemic meant that many of our plans together couldn't go ahead however the team were determined to continue fundraising for us to ensure we can support local children living with disabilities and terminal illnesses. St James’ Square Law Firm is a commercial law firm based in Newcastle. It has expanded rapidly since it became operational in 2017 from one room at Hoults Yard. The firm recently celebrated its 4th birthday and regular readers will remember the yummy cakes they shared with us!

It now employs over 30 staff, occupies 7,000 sq ft of Grade A premises at Esh Plaza and has a turnover exceeding £3 million. It has expanded its commercial departments to include services in Employment and HR, Corporate and Commercial Services, Dispute Resolution, Real Estate – Commercial Property, Real Estate – Residential Property, Corporate Recovery and Insolvency, Debt Recovery and Sports Services.

Paul Monaghan, Managing Partner, said ‘This is our 4th year of raising funds for North East based charities that specialise in helping disabled children and their families. This year will be another record-breaking year in raising monies for our charity of the year and we are delighted to do so in continued support of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund. The tireless work they do for children in our region is truly humbling and is more essential than ever given the current climate. The Noche Del Sol Charity Ball in November promises to be a night to remember and we are looking forward to raising a substantial amount of money for this fantastic cause.’
