Hello Sunshine News readers,
Happy Christmas Jumper day!
This week we are pleased to announce another charity partnership for 2022! Our new friends at The Gym Group will be supporting our charity across four gyms throughout the North East.
We’ve already met some of their wonderful staff and trainers and we look forward to engaging gym members in the New Year.
We have lots of exciting plans to support peoples well-being as well as raise funds to help us purchase specialist and adapted equipment for children in our region.
Newcastle Gym Group Assistant General Manager, Andrew Kelly, said: "We are really looking forward to working with the Sunshine Fund and being able to run some Gym challenges and events to raise as much money and awareness as possible."
And just as you would expect from a bunch of fitness professionals, they are quick off the blocks with their first events to support us!
They have been hosting Christmas Jumper week for us across their gyms and we have loved seeing their festive knits!
Alongside The Gym Group, we have friends and supporters from Sage, Gainford Group, Hotel du Vin and The Grand Hotel Gosforth, to name just a few taking part today.
If you’re adorned in your festive attire today and would like to make a difference to the lives of local disabled children, you can donate £2 by texting SUNSHINE 2 to 70085.
Remember you can tag us on Facebook and Instagram too with your jumper selfies: @sunshinefund
This week we took some of our families to see the phenomenal Disney on Ice at the Utilita Arena.
Families Coordinator Bev greeted our families before the show on Thursday evening to welcome everyone and we are pretty sure she enjoyed the night more than the kids did!
We want to say another HUGE thank you to all at Metrocentre and our good friends at White Hot Communications for donating our tickets and giving our families this wonderful opportunity.
Many of the families we support would usually miss out on opportunities like Disney on Ice and so we’re thrilled to be able to offer some of the families we’ve supported recently the chance to make some magical memories.
Look out for family photos across our social media channels.
Remember if you are a parent or carer of a child we have provided equipment for, or if you are in the process of applying to us for help, you can join our private Sunshine Families Group on Facebook for exclusive offers and events specifically for children with additional needs and their families.
Next weeks column will be our last Sunshine news of 2021 but we will be back in the New Year with lots of events news.
