Hi Sunshine News Readers
Firstly, a big thank you from me and the team at True Potential to the Sunshine Fund for allowing us to take over their Chronicle column this week.
It’s great to see things are slowly getting back to normal and like all of you, we’re all looking forward to doing some of the things that we haven’t been able to do for a long time. From being able to see friends and family again to shortly having a pint in a pub and a meal in a restaurant, things definitely feel much more positive. One of the things that we are looking forward to most over the next few months is the return of the Great North Run weekend, which is always a fantastic event in the North East calendar. We’re especially excited to be joining up with Team Sunshine again as the official sponsor of the Chronicle Sunshine Fund’s Great North Run team across the weekend, including both the junior and adult runs in September.
At True Potential, we aren’t going back to normal or at least not to how things used to be. We’ve always believed in doing as much as we can for our employees, for our customers and for our communities. As we’ve seen over the last year and a half, all of us of have got an important role to play in the recovery. I’m delighted to say that we’ve recruited an extra 60 people to True Potential’s head office in Newcastle. They’ll help us grow further and faster and ensure that our customers continue to get the best possible service and experience with us.
We’ve also just completed a multi-million pound redesign of our head office to make it much more geared towards collaborative and creative team working. It was designed specifically around a hybrid way of working going forwards, combining time at home with time in the office. Our employees and guests now have a state of the art, modern, bright place where they can be proud to come to work and spend time with their friends and colleagues. And True Potential has a proud history of supporting great causes around the North East and beyond, particularly those charities that work with disadvantaged young people and their families.
That’s why we are so proud of our partnership with the Chronicle Sunshine Fund, who do outstanding work all year round to provide much-needed support to those who are going through difficult times. It’s also why our entire team will be fundraising for the Sunshine Fund. Alongside 10 of my colleagues, I will be running in the Great North Run this year, with my yellow Sunshine Fund running vest on, to raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause.
As we build back better from the pandemic, True Potential is committed to doing more for our customers, employees and our communities alongside our great partners from the Sunshine Fund.
