We’re so proud to be a charity that is based in the North-East, and we have never been prouder to be part of this region following our Spreading Sunshine campaign.
In times of uncertainty, our local community is where we look towards for strength and support and we have been blown away by the enormous amount of love, generosity and kindness from people all over the North-East who have chosen to support us by Spreading Sunshine.
Across our social media pages, we have been asking parents, carers, family members and friends to help us spread a little bit of positivity in these uncertain times by flooding our sites with sunflower creations. Mini artists all over the region rose up to the challenge and we have been inundated with incredible sunflower creations. From drawings, paintings to even chalks on pavements, children have been sharing their pictures
and tagging us on social media whilst using the hashtag #SpreadingSunshine.
There has been no age limit on participants, with our earliest entry from
baby Eidur, aged 4.5 months old who, with help from his mummy, created yellow sunflower petals with his painted footprints! We’ve even had the pupils of Biddick Primary school, who are still attending whilst their key worker parents and carers are busy doing incredible jobs across the North-East, send us pictures of their sunflower paintings. We love their bright colours and even brighter smiles.
The creativity and collaborative spirit that we have seen from our friends and supporters has been overwhelming and we cannot thank you enough for continuing to spread positivity in these difficult times. We’re so excited to see what else your children can create so please do continue to tag us and send us your sunflower pictures. As always, although we want to spread sunshine wherever we go, we’re reminded of the importance of why as a charity we’re needed, now more than ever.
These are extremely difficult and uncertain times and our families face more hardship now than ever before. Our children can be immunosuppressed meaning they don’t have the ability to fight infection effectively. Our children can have severe respiratory conditions and breathing difficulties, many with tracheostomies that are at a high risk of
infection. Our children may have neuro conditions which leaves them susceptible to further illness and Covid-19 poses an even greater risk.
Unfortunately, in these uncertain times we are unable to continue with our usual events and community fundraising initiatives, but our help is needed now more than ever. We rely solely on your support and generosity to provide our children with the specialist equipment they desperately need to live safely and comfortably.
If you are able to help children, right here in the North-East, please donate today. You can make a one off or regular donation on our website or through your mobile phone by following our text to donate code.
