Hi Sunshine News readers!
We hope you have enjoyed reading about some of lovely families and finding out about how your fundraising and donations will make a difference to their lives. We will have even more stories to share with you very soon once equipment has been delivered over the Summer months.
We’re super excited to announce that we’re now accepting applications for equipment for our late Summer round taking place on Tuesday 10th August. Remember; we support children from birth, right up until their 19th Birthday; we’re not means tested and so any family, regardless of their household income can apply; we can support a child every 12 months so you can apply again even if we’ve supported your child before; and we help families and organisations all over the North East, from the top of Berwick, right down to County Durham. Visit our website for more information on how to apply, www.thesunshinefund.org/apply. Please do share this information with anyone you know who will benefit from applying to us. We aim to help as many disabled children in our region as we can.
We can’t quite believe that we’re now in July, where has the time gone this year?! With many of our events still in limbo as we eagerly await government updates, we thought the North East could maybe do with a little……festive cheer? We know, we know, #Junemas split the nation with Aldi selling pigs in blankets, but it’s never too early to start getting excited for Christmas as far as Team Sunshine are concerned.
Following the success of our Letters from Santa appeal in December, we are delighted to launch Postcards from Santa, as rumour has it, Santa recently had a staycation in the North East (because everyone knows that Santa is a Geordie!). The main man himself has been taking some time out to relax in some of the famous beauty spots of the North East, including visiting our coastline to try the world’s best fish & chips, indulging in some retail therapy at Metrocentre, and even stopping off for a pint down the Quayside.
Santa is a huge supporter of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund and so he’s been writing personalised postcards to little ones to spread a little festive sunshine, and of course, to remind them that he’s still watching to see if they’ve been naughty or nice as the Christmas countdown begins.
You still have a few days to get your hands on a postcard for your littles (or bigs) by visiting our website and donating £5 to support our work. Once online, you can add personalisation’s such as your own favourite North East Summer activities plus the chance to remind the kids to tidy their room once in a while or listen to the grown ups more often! Postcards from Santa are almost sold out so don’t delay in ordering this weekend. Visit www.thesunshinefund.org/postcards-from-santa.
That’s all from us this week, we hope you have a fabulous weekend!
