At The Sunshine Fund, we're committed to providing the best opportunities for the babies, children and young people we support in the North East, and removing barriers that may prevent them from reaching their full potential. 

Whether this is through funding life-changing pieces of equipment, providing access to inclusive and accessible activities and events, or offering support and guidance to families navigating their own personal journeys.

In 2025, we grew our Great North Run campaign by 50%, and our vision for 2026 is to take it even further. We aim to make The Sunshine Fund's presence bigger and better as we approach our 100th anniversary, and our ethos of uniting kids with their equipment as quickly as possible remains as strong as ever.

This means we're hoping to return to Newcastle Quayside on Saturday 12th September for the Junior & Mini Great North Run! We will be booking spaces based on the amount of interest we receive, so if your child would like to race for Team Mini Sunshine next year, please express your interest below.

We don't set a specific target for Junior & Mini, but we appreciate any efforts big and small. By racing for Team Mini Sunshine, your hard-earned donations will stay in our region, and will make a direct difference to other children and families.
