Return of Question of Sport

Hi Sunshine News readers,

We hope you have all been enjoying the recent spring sunshine.

We’ve been getting out and about this week getting our steps in ahead of the Yorkshire Three Peaks trek on May 20.

Erin and Lauren are joining our trekkers on this epic adventure and they’ve both been finding creative ways to get themselves trek ready, including stepping while on work calls and having walk and talk meetings.

We’ve also been limbering up while mapping out the routes for this years Sunshine Run with our friends from Gateshead Harriers.

We're excited to bring a new 3k route to the event and welcome younger runners for the first time.

My job while all this exertion has been going on has been to provide the sweet treat energy boosts and motivational team talks.

The North East is synonymous with a love of sport and it's home to some of the best sporting talent in the UK.

You only have to pick up a copy of The Chronicle or listen to a local podcast to understand the passion our region has for its teams. But passion is one thing, how is your sporting knowledge...?

We are thrilled to announce that after a two-year (Covid related) break, The North Easts biggest, best and favourite sporting quiz is back!

Ok, we may be ever so slightly biased but we promise it’s a cracking event!

Join us on Thursday, November 24 at The Grand Hotel Gosforth for the return of our annual Question of Sport, charity quiz and dinner.

As the first and only event of it's kind in the North East, Question of Sport is sure to test even the best of sporting minds, so be sure to invite your best sporting buffs to join your team and help you climb to the top of the league, by answering picture and video rounds in the style of the well known TV show.

It's all about the bragging rights, who will take the coveted trophy this year?

Hosted by Sky Sports' Pete Graves and attended by local sporting heroes including charity patron and Paralympian Stephen Miller, the event continues to be a sell out each year as teams battle against each other for the coveted title of 'Question of Sport winner 2022'.

But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what Friend of the Fund, Pete said about his hosting duties.

"Hosting Question of Sport is always a thoroughly enjoyable evening! The charity is close to my heart so it's great to see so many organisations from across the North East coming together for one night to support a much loved local charity.

"There is always so much energy and camaraderie in the room which makes my job so much easier! I definitely recommend booking a table to see what all the hype is about!"

For more information and tickets or to donate a prize for the on eth night auction, please contact Erin Todd.
