Our event planning never stops.

Hello, Rebecca here this week.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m the Office and Events Manager here at The Sunshine Fund. I hope you are all well and keeping safe during these uncertain times, my weeks seem to currently revolve around Netflix and anything that includes sugar! Anyway, enough about me, I wanted to keep you all in the loop with all things event related in Team Sunshine at the moment.

Whilst we may not be able to operate in the way we usually do; we are hoping normal service will resume in no time and we can continue to deliver our amazing events to raise much needed funds to support as many children as we can.

Our next upcoming event is our annual ball in September. This year we have collaborated with St James' Square Law Firm as their official charity of the year, to bring you our most exciting theme yet. For 2020 we are transporting revellers across the globe for our Nocho del Sol ball. Translating as Night of Sunshine, this year's theme is a celebration of Mexicana. From the colourful traditions to the 24/7 party atmosphere, we're proud to bring you an evening representing Mexican culture. It would be great to see as many of our supporters there, the event is always one of my favourites in our annual calendar as everybody has so much fun.

Moving on to something a little different (we like to cater for all) our next event of the year is Question of Sport. Our favourite sporting night takes place in November and is hosted by Sky Sports Pete Graves and attended by many local sporting heroes. As the only event of its kind in the North East, it proves to be a very competitive evening. We look forward to seeing who will take home the much-loved trophy this year, we know there are lots of people who already have their eyes on the prize.

Last of all is our Glass Slipper Awards, although this event does not take place until 2021, the work to celebrate the most inspirational women in the North East starts now. This is such an incredible afternoon which recognises the achievements of women in business and in the community. Categories include, Young Achiever, Unsung Hero and Lifetime Achievement. Our 2020 awards happened back in February and was one we will not forget. It’s so inspiring to see remarkable women across the region coming together and celebrating their accolades.

If you would like more information on any of our events, please do get in touch

at rebecca.jama@reachplc.com and I am more than happy to help. Alongside attending our events, there are many ways you can support us. We rely solely on your support and generosity to provide our children with the specialist equipment they desperately need. Now more than ever we need your help.

These are extremely difficult and uncertain times and our families face more hardship now than ever before. Our children can be immunosuppressed meaning they don’t have the ability to fight infection effectively. Our children are some of the most vulnerable in society in right now. And we need you to help them. If you are able to help children, right here in the North-East, please donate today.

You can visit our website www.sunshinefund.org or donate via our Justgiving

page www.justgiving.com/ecsf. You can also make a one-off text donation of £5 by texting SUNSHINE5 to 70085. Even a few pounds can make a huge difference.

Take care,

Rebecca x
