Hi Sunshine News readers,
We hope you all had a royally relaxing bank holiday weekend and indulged in one too many cream scones whilst enjoying the King’s Coronation, whether that was the coronation of King Charles III or King George III in the latest instalment of Bridgerton.
Speaking of Bridgerton, don’t forget The Bridgertoon Ball is taking place on Friday 29th September at The Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park and it is set to be a most regal affair. If you haven’t secured your table just yet, there is still time; get in touch with our Fundraising and Events Coordinator, Erin, who will be most delighted to help: erin.todd@thesunshinefund.org.
In more royal news, this week, Siobhan met with Lucy Winskill OBE, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant to discuss our centenary celebrations, which happen to coincide with the opening of the Tyne Bridge. Whilst plans for our 100th Birthday are still in the early stages, we promise they will be nothing short of spectacular!
Now to something less glamorous, we must wish the best of luck to our Sunshine Trek Team who will be taking on the mammoth task of The Lakes 3000s this Friday. Summiting 4 of the highest peaks in the Lake District, this is no easy feat, but our team are rearing to go and already looking forward to that post hike pint!
Erin and the team will keep you updated via our socials throughout the challenge, so keep an eye out for their updates and we can’t wait to let you all know how they got on next week.
Siobhan and our Families Coordinator Bev are at visiting our Friends at Stagecoach this week to thank them for all their hard work for us over our many years of partnership and to let them know what Team Sunshine have planned for the future. We hope they have a great day and make the most of the Stagecoach canteen!
We are also happy to say that as a result of The Big Help Out National Day of Volunteering, we have received a flurry of volunteers register for our volunteer newsletter. If you would like to get involved, you can register via our website: www.thesunshinefund.org.
Speak Soon,
Sophie
