🌟 12 Days of Sunshine 🌟
Help us light up the North East region this Christmas
Come back each day between 1st - 12th December to reveal a new story.
All donations made between Tuesday 2nd - Tuesday 9th can be magically doubled at no extra cost to the donor as part of our Big Give Christmas Challenge.
The Sunshine Fund is proud to present this year’s Christmas Appeal, where for 12 days we’ll be sharing stories that highlight how together we can spread some festive cheer and make a direct difference to the lives of babies, children and young people living with complex needs in our North East region.
Across the next 12 days you’ll hear where all donations made across our Christmas Appeal are actually going, as all proceeds will be used to fund the specialist equipment that has been applied for in the last quarter – totalling almost £40,000.
This equipment is not available on the NHS, yet it can significantly enhance the day-to-day lives of children with complex needs, and their wider families. We’ll show you the range of items we fund, how vast the cost can be, and how wonderfully diverse and unique our Sunshine Kids really are.
You’ll meet some of our Sunshine Kids, including:
🌟 12-year-old Olivia from Sunderland who we supported with a trike
🌟 7-year-old Daisy from North Tyneside who we supported with an iPad Pro and Otterbox
🌟 2-year-old Florence from South Tyneside who we supported with a Chilli Bean Seat
🌟 6-year-old Ethan from Northumberland who we supported with a playframe
You’ll also hear about some of the additional support we’ve given local families this year. This includes activities such as our annual Beach Day in South Shields and making a splash in Amble with Wetwheels Yorkshire, as well as a trip to see Disney on Ice, and the importance of our upcoming Santa Grotto Bus and why it’s needed now more than ever. All of these activities and events allow our children to access new experiences and create special memories with their friends and family.
Everything we do at The Sunshine Fund is part of our wider vision of a North East where every disabled child and young person has access to the specialist equipment, support, and opportunities they need to live with dignity, independence, and joy, and where you, our regional community unites in support of every child’s right to a fulfilling childhood.
This is why this year, we’re inviting you to support our small, local charity so we can make a brighter future for our young people, together. By supporting small, we can tell you exactly the impact you’re making to families in our region. By supporting local, you know that your hard-earned donations are staying in the region, making a direct difference to the lives of children living with disabilities, additional needs and terminal illness, right here in the North East.
