The Sunshine Run 5K 2020
Date TBC, Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside
Join us in June 2020 at our 19th annual Sunshine Run 5K!
Starting by the Millennium Bridge on Newcastle's Quayside, heading up to Newcastle Business Park and finishing over at Gateshead's Baltic Square, The Sunshine Run is a flat and fast 5km race held every year in June to raise funds for our Summer equipment round.
Perfect for fun runners and competitive and club runners, the event has attracted over 300 runners in 2019, creating a sea of yellow supporters up and down the River Tyne. Our charity patron, Paralympian Stephen Miller also joins us to start the race.
In Sunshine Run tradition, all runners will receive their event t-shirt and medal for just £20 registration. For the first time ever, we also boast chip timing so that you can get your official time and place as soon as you cross the finish line, perfect for the super competitive. A bulk entry discount of 10% will be automatically applied where 10 or more entries are placed on a single order, which is even more incentive to get your family, friends and colleagues involved.
Although there isn’t an official fundraising target, we’re encouraging all participants to raise a minimum of £50 this year so we can raise as much as possible, helping as many children as possible. We’ll be supporting our runners with fundraising tips, ideas and events in the coming months too as well as training guides to make sure you’re fully ready to run, walk, skip and stride your way across the finish line.
Heading into its 19th year, we're hoping to make the 2020 Sunshine Run 5K bigger and better than ever so please rally the troops, grab your trainers and register your team to support disabled children right here in our North East!
