Our annual Glass Slipper Awards celebrates inspirational females and honours their remarkable achievements across the North East.

Woman of the Year
This individual has overcome adversity and should be celebrated for their bravery, determination and amazing achievements whilst battling personal hardship. This person has achieved something amazing despite challenging circumstances. We want to recognise this person for the fantastic things they have done. Is there a parent, career, mentor or supporter who has inspired you despite their own challenges that deserves to be nominated for this award?
Outstanding Business Woman
This award recognises and celebrates the achievements of an outstanding business woman. They could be an ambassador for their company, a great team leader or a rising star. This individual has made an exceptional contribution and made a significant impact in their organisation, going above and beyond what would normally be expected of their role. We want to celebrate women in business at all stages of their career journey whether they’re a well-established CEO with years of successes, or someone just starting out yet making waves in their chosen field.
Woman in the Community
This award honours an individual who is dedicated to making a real difference to people's lives and is passionate about working in their local community. They may contribute through their career or organisation, offering their wealth of knowledge, time, financial support or resources or contribute in their own time as a volunteer to benefit lives of others in North East communities. This lady is the embodiment of community spirit!
Woman in STEM *NEW*
This award recognises women who have made remarkable achievements and pushed boundaries in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This may be a woman pioneering her own research and changing their sector forever, paving a way for the women and girls of the future, a sector leader bringing bold new ideas or a lady making waves in a sector where women are traditionally underrepresented. Has a digital campaign or movement inspired you recently that was fiercely led by a female or have you noticed a lady climbing the ladder in the construction industry? It's time to think outside of the box when nominating for this new award.
COVID Champion *NEW*
This award recognises those incredible women who have gone above and beyond in a global pandemic and year of uncertainty. Whether it be a key worker on the front line, someone working tirelessly behind the scenes or someone who has supported and served our most vulnerable in this time of great need. This woman has offered a helping hand and made a real difference. We want to recognise this extraordinary woman who has been a shining light during dark times.
